The first step to becoming an instructor is to attend an open water instructor course that teaches you how to teach basic diving programs.

Once you have been certified as an Open Water Instructor, take the Advanced Instructor Course, which teaches you how to teach advanced diving programs, and the Instructor Trainer Course, which teaches you how to teach the Open Water Instructor Course.
