A brief review before diving

Before learning the different diving activities, let's review neutral buoyancy techniques, which are essential for safe and enjoyable diving.

Once you can control neutral buoyancy smoothly during your first open-water training dive, you will be able to enjoy a variety of diving activities.

How to adjust buoyancy

When instructed by your instructor, lie face down on the seabed (sand) with all the air released from your BC.

Next, use the power inflator to add a small amount of air to the BC for about 0.5 seconds.

Continue inhaling and adding small amounts of air until only your fins touch the seabed.

When you exhale, you should gently return to the seabed.

This position indicates neutral buoyancy. Repeat this exercise several times until you can maintain neutral buoyancy without touching the seabed.
