Alert nearby divers using an underwater signaling device and request immediate assistance.
| 2 |
Approach the diver from behind. Grasp the tank valve or cylinder firmly to support the diver in an upright position.
| 3 |
Support the diver’s chin and maintain the head in a neutral position to keep the airway open.
If the diver is breathing, secure the regulator in the diver’s mouth and ensure the mask remains in place.
| 4 |
Ascend with the diver at a safe, controlled ascent rate to avoid further injury or decompression risk.
| 5 |
Control buoyancy carefully during ascent.
Vent expanding air from your BCD as you ascend.
If necessary, adjust the diver’s BCD to maintain proper buoyancy control.
| 6 |
Upon reaching the surface, immediately begin the rescue procedures for an unconscious diver at the surface.
