Nitrox diving is different from standard air diving.
If you plan to use Nitrox for dives deeper than 19 m, it is recommended that you complete an oxygen tolerance test at a medical facility equipped with a recompression chamber before using Nitrox.
The oxygen tolerance test involves breathing 100% oxygen for 30 minutes at a pressure of 1.8 atmospheres to determine whether you develop symptoms of oxygen toxicity.
In the Nitrox diving course, training dives are conducted at depths shallower than 19 m, where there is no risk of oxygen toxicity. Therefore, an oxygen tolerance test is not required before participating in this training.
