Dolphin Facts

■ Underwater Perception

Objects underwater appear approximately 33% larger and 25% closer than they actually are.

This visual distortion occurs because of light refraction as it passes from water into the air space inside your mask.

Be aware of this effect when reaching for objects such as ropes or equipment to avoid misjudging distance.

■ Marine Life Awareness

Some marine organisms are venomous, while others may defend themselves if disturbed.

Many species camouflage themselves on rocks, coral, or sandy bottoms.

Maintain proper buoyancy control and avoid touching marine life or the seabed. Do not provoke or disturb underwater creatures.

Be cautious near the seabed

■ Buddy System

Dolphin swim activities must always be conducted with at least one buddy. Never dive alone.

Buddies remain together, monitor each other’s condition, and provide assistance if necessary.

Stay together

■ Physical Condition

If you feel unwell, fatigued, or experience any unusual symptoms during the program, immediately signal your instructor and stop participating.

Your safety and well-being are the highest priority.
