Because it estimates your nitrogen loading continuously, it can provide very accurate information.

However, dive computers often calculate limits with a relatively small built-in safety margin.
For additional safety, plan your dive conservatively using a dive table before entering the water, and use your dive computer as a real-time monitoring tool during the dive.
