■ Entry Procedures
Before entering the water, turn on all dive lights and strobe lights to confirm they are functioning properly.
At the entry point, use your dive light to check for driftwood, rocks, or other obstacles. Also observe the wave size and timing before entering.
After entry, gather calmly around the dive leader and confirm buddy contact before proceeding.
Barracuda are known to be attracted to bright light and may approach rapidly. Their teeth are sharp and can cause serious injury.
In areas where barracuda are present, avoid shining your dive light horizontally across the water surface. Instead, keep the beam directed downward or away from open water to reduce attraction.
