■Descent
During descent, use the descent line to gather at the planned meeting point on the bottom, such as the dive leader’s strobe light or another fixed reference.
Divers should not descend all at once. Descend in a predetermined order.
If everyone descends at the same time during a night dive or limited-visibility dive, the leader may not be able to monitor the entire group effectively, and overall safety may be compromised.
Before settling on the bottom, check carefully for hazardous marine life such as long-spined sea urchins (Diadema) and stingrays.
