Emergency Procedures

If decompression sickness (DCS) is suspected, keep the diver hydrated with fluids if they are conscious and able to drink.

Contact the nearest medical facility with recompression (hyperbaric) treatment capability and seek medical evaluation immediately.

Administer 100% oxygen as soon as possible and continue oxygen delivery until medical professionals take over care.

Oxygen first aid helps reduce bubble size and improves oxygen delivery to affected tissues.

Recompression chambers are available only at specialized medical facilities.
Before diving, identify the nearest emergency contacts and recompression treatment centers in the dive area.
