■Safety Check Before Surface Movement
Before moving on the surface, have the students secure buoyancy and check everyone’s physical condition and mental state.
They may be physically exhausted or feeling stressed.
Make eye contact and communicate at the surface to check breathing and fatigue levels.
If necessary, have them use the regulator while moving on the surface.
Clearly identify the target landmark for the exit point, and ensure that no student becomes separated from the team during surface movement.
Beginners may become distracted by what is underwater during surface movement.
It is important to monitor all students’ movements (safety check).
■Surface Movement – Exit – Debriefing
Exit only after all students have exited.
Conduct a debriefing using the reverse side of the dive leader check sheet.
Check the physical condition of the students.
Confirm the number of students.
■After Dive
Clearly mark and manage any rental equipment that is broken.
Report the completion of the dive to the relevant parties.
Provide the following information regarding fun diving after obtaining a C-card.
① It is strongly recommended to participate in fun dives led by an instructor.
② For fun dives not led by an instructor, dive in safer conditions (depth and sea conditions) than those previously experienced with an instructor.
③ If more than two months have passed since the last dive (loss of familiarity), if you have fewer than 10 dives (lack of experience), or if you lack confidence, participate in a refresher dive before fun diving to review basic skills such as mask removal and replacement, regulator recovery, and regulator clearing.
④ If you are not confident in diving, do not hesitate to cancel the dive even right before a fun dive.
