■ Rope Rescue

A rope rescue is performed to assist a distressed diver from a safe distance.

Give clear verbal instructions and maintain control throughout the procedure.

1. Remove the free end of the rope from the bag and ensure it is not tangled.
2. Hold the rope securely with one hand while maintaining stable footing or balance.
3. Clearly announce that you are about to throw the rope to avoid surprising the diver.
4. Throw the bag toward the diver using an underhand motion for better accuracy and control.
5. Instruct the diver clearly to grab the rope, not the bag.
6. Once the diver has secured the rope, pull steadily and smoothly to bring the diver to safety.
