■Ascent

Ascend along the descent line or anchor line whenever possible.

Maintain a slow, controlled ascent and monitor your depth and air supply. Always make a safety stop at approximately 5 meters (15 feet) for at least 3 minutes.

Be aware of boat traffic and surface conditions. Before surfacing, look and listen carefully, and deploy a surface marker buoy (SMB) if necessary.
